Desktop shows nothing

Hi

a user reported me that his notebook shut down because of lack of power
supply during a copy process.
When he starts his notebook now, he no longer sees the icons on his Windows
2000 desktop. We tried to create some new shortcuts but they also do not
appear.

I've never seen this before and it's quite difficult to support the user
because he resides in another location.

Has someone an idea ?

Right click on the Desktop, select Active Desktop and enable Show Desktop Icons.
