We are running Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 and would like to have the
ability to access the address book without starting Outlook. Is there a way
to do this with a shortcut?

TIA...Bob

What do you mean? Outlook doesn't even have an address book.
All Contact data is stored in Outlook's Contacts Folders. How would you
propose you access that data without running Outlook?

If you go to folder view and find the contacts folder... pull it over and
copy it to the desktop.
When you click it, it will open outlook directly to the contacts folder.
That's about as close as you can get I think....

you can open outlook to the contacts list, but it's going to open outlook -
you can't open just the 'address book' - it's not a separate program.

Contacts is different. I am talking about the Global Address List. There is
a button on the toolbar in Outlook for it labeled simply Address Book.

Then try posting your question accurately next time. Saves us both some
time.

My Outlook has an icon on the toolbar called Address Book. I want a shortcut
for it on my desktop. I'm not sure how I can be more precise....sorry for
wasting your time.

Outlook doesn't provide a way to show the Address Book dialog from a desktop shortcut.
