Desktop Search In Win XP

I support a small number of computers on a workgroup and one computer in
particular is having trouble accessing "My Network Places". I click on teh
icon and it either hangs or it takes around 20 seconds to load up. The
workgroup has all the same hardware and all the same software on it except
for the desktop search on this troublesome tower. I tried removing the
toolbar and the desktop search still lingers in the bottom. Any one had any
problems with the desktop search and could this be my problem or am I fishing
here?
