Hi there WVU,

You might want to Check in the System logs by right clicking on My Computer,
and then clicking on Manage. The Event ID and Source info is especially
helpful in troubleshooting those issues.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi there WVU,

Understood, but if you give us the Event ID and Source info, we might be
able to better troubleshoot for you. The information that we have right now
is a bit too ambiguous to be able to troubelshoot effectively.

Hi there WVU,

Sorry for the long wait, weekends and all.

Try this, Go to My Computer. Then right click on C: and click on
Properties. Select the Tools tab. In the Error Checking Section, click on
Check Now... Check the box that says Automatically fix file system errors.
Windows will tell you that it will reqire a reboot of the machine before
continuing. Reboot your PC.

This will initiate a basic disk check of the hard drive that your operating
system resides on. If it finds any errors, try to right click on the desktop
again and see if it hangs. If it continues to hang, you may need to run a
repair or a restore of your operating system.

As always is good practice, whenever you are performing checks and reapirs
to the operating system, try to backup any essential data that you need.

Let me know if this works.

Best Regards,

~Will
