Desktop resize when resume from standby in RTM

Occasionally when resuming from standby vista is resizing the desktop from
1680x1050 to 1024x768 no idea what is causing this to occur it is very
random. i have had it occur both with other apps open and no apps open so am
sure it is not related to another application. My system is a reasonable spec
but not brand new hardware.

Dell Inspiron 9100 XPS
2Gb Ram
ATI 9800M 256Mb GPU
100Gb 7200 HDD
etc. etc .etc

Has anyone else observed this? is it specifiec to the hardware I am running?

I had issues with my monitor resolution being reset after switching users
(down to 1440x900, I think). And on one of the users, the task bar would
always appear on the wrong monitor (in a dual monitor setup, obviously).
That was fixed by downloading the latest drivers from ATI.

try to get the latest driver for you card. this is usually the problem.

Good advice but I have already been down this path. Both the defaut drivers
that come with the installation and the latest ATI drivers have this problem.
Del does not currently have drivers for vista.
