Windows XP SP2

If I delete an icon from the taskbar it also disappears from the desktop.
If I put it back on the desktop it reappears on the taskbar.

I've tried restoring to before the problem started but it tells me no
alterations have been made to my system since that early date.

Can anyone suggest an answer please?

________

Have you made a shortcut from the icon on the taskbar to your desktop? maybe
if you did it that way it would delete, what i would suggest is just takings
a copy of the app exe from the root directory (where its installed) and
pasting it to desktop

Try right clicking on the icon to open the settings window, here you may be
able to tick or untick the box where it says remove icon from taskbar. Other
than that, if you don't need the programme to load on start-up, take it out
of the start-up menu.

The Toolbar titled "Desktop" will cause the deleted icons to also delete
from the Desktop because it's a view of the Desktop folder. The QL
shouldn't do that.
