Desktop/pictures

When I receive e-mail with a picture with it, I click
save and it goes to My Doc/my pictures. Which is fine,
but I have a scanner that scans 35mm slides and when I
scan a slide or when I download pictures from my digital
camera (cannon) they are all listed in my display
properties, desktop. I don't want hundreds of pictures
in there. I have tried delete from there but wont do it.
How can I change settings so that my pictures don't end
up there? Thanks

What software is used to grab the pics from your scanner
and slides? Probably change it in the options of that
program.

Mary, I had the same problem after formatting my C drive
in Nov. I was told this is a feature of XP, but, it did
not happen before the formatting. However, I was told by
a nice person on this newsgroup that it can be stopped by
making subfolders in My Pictures and moving items into
the subfolders. Instead,I made a new folder in My
Documents and titled it My Photos. Now everything goes
there and does not show up in the desktop display
(wallpaper). When I moved the photos out off My Pictures
into My Photos they were deleted from the wallpaper
list. Hope this works for you. Belle
