Hi,

Is there a policy or registry setting to prevent users making changes
to their desktop.

Like moving icons or deliting them.

Thx

Not sure if your on a domain or not, but by default, users don't have rights
to delete icons that are part of the All Users group in Documents & Settings.

I think they can still move them though as it's their desktop.

You can try the Windows XP Security Console:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_securityconsole.htm
With this in the Desktop Settings section you can either:
-Completely disable the desktop and hide all icons or
-Choose don't save user's settings at exit - which will revert the desktop
back to how it was before this was enabled every time they logout -> this is
probably the one you will want as I don't know of any setting to completely
disable it in they way that you want to (short of using the first option
here which also hides ALL of the icons)

-Dan

There are a lot of such tools, You can find these in registy or
policies.

But for these one I have'nt found the one I want.
Gonna try All user folders.
