I have a desktop and a laptop running windows xp .
Both are ethernet to a hub
Both PC get out to the web.
Desk and Lap both have the same workgroup name (miller)
PC names are jdesk and jlaptop
PC's can see olny themselves as I try to map network drive,
they cannot see each other.
What is the procedure so they can see each other so I can swap files...

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem.

Does your network use a hub or a router? That makes a big difference
in how the computers should be set up to see each other.

What type of Internet connection do you have -- cable modem, DSL,
something else? How does it connect to the network?

Did you enable File and Print Sharing on both?
Did you disable the firewall on both [if there is one on the internet
connection - such as a router or perhaps one on the cable modem]?
