Hello
I posted this earlier but the person who told me the
fix didn't tell me how to find the file and how to hide
it....can somebody please read this and tell how to do
these things.....thanks.....

I am running Windows XP Professional and I recently
got high speed cable as my internet connection...when I
turn on the computer and it boots up to the desktop, a
window entitled "desktop.ini Notepad" opens up with the
following message contained in the notepad window

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-
21787

Can anybody explain to me why this is happening on each
boot...and how i would get rid of this annoyance...any
help is greatly appreciated......Raoul

Didn't see the previous reply you are speaking of. That said:

Notepad Starts With "[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\System32\Shell32.dll,-21787" When You
Start Your Computer

Or:

Right click the Start button/Explore All Users/Programs/Startup. Right
click Desktop.ini/Properties and set it to Hidden.
