desktop.ini keeps getting overwritten.

Under my music folder I have set the folder icon for each
album folder using right click > properties > customize >
change icon. I have set the same icon for dozens of
artists folders with no problem except for one folder. I
set the icon as the same as the rest and it looks OK.
Then after awhile when opening my music folder the icon
setting for this one folder has gone and it has reverted
back to the basic yellow folder. The desktop.ini file has
lost the icon setting lines. After running the
customization the desktop.ini file gains these two lines:

IconFile=%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Icons\iCandy\folders\My Music
XP 2.ico
IconIndex=0

This is the same for all the album folders. But in just
this one folder the two icon lines get erased. I have
tried moving these lines to be lines 2&3 instead of the
bottom two; made the desktop.ini file readonly; but
somehow this one folder keeps getting reset and the icon
lines removed from desktop.ini.

Very odd, what could be doing this?

Thanks

David

not sure what would cause it, but you could try editing the permissions on the file and denying
'Write Data' and 'Append Data' permissions to all users & groups including yourself.
