Desktop image overlapping

On several different systems, the user has a desktop background image that
the use. This image always overlaps even when you go into Dislpay properties
and change it to center, tile, or stretch. I believe there is a way to use
regedit or something else to fix this but don't remember how. Anybody know?

If the image won't fit, it won't fit. Only thing you can do is to resize the
image, if possible.

No, the overlap is two images of the same image. There is the original
background image and offset is the same image. So there are two images on the
desktop. It fits on the screen and size is not the problem.
