Desktop Icons

My desktop icons are large and I would like them minimized. I have tried to
go to properties, but still can't fix the problem. Because this is enlarged I
cannot view my whole screen. Please HELP!!

Which Properties did you go to in order to make them smaller?
Right click the Desktop.
Click Properties > Settings tab.
Move the Screen Resolution slider one step to the right.
Click Apply.
If a window pops up asking you to accept the settings click Ok.

If that is not the issue:
Right click the Desktop.
Click Properties > Appearance tab > Advanced button.
Select Icons from the Item dropdown menu.
Set the size anywhere from 28 to 32.
Click Ok > Apply > Ok.

If still not the issue:
Right click the Desktop.
Click Properties > Appearance tab > Effects button.
Uncheck "Use large icons".
Click Ok > Apply > Ok.
