desktop icons

My destop icons have blue color under them now the writing is white and there
are blue squares uaround the writing not transparent anymore how do i fix this

Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Performance - Settings button >
Visual Effects tab > Place a checkmark in 'Use drop shadows for icon labels
on the desktop'.
