DeskTop Icons

On Windows2000 desktop, I am unable to move icons. The
Arrange Icons feature works, but I can no longer manually
move icons myself.
What happened and how do I correct this? I want to
manually arrange the icons on my desktop as I always have
in the past.

Is anything checked when you access right-click desktop | Arrange icons? If so check the one checked hopefully it acts as a toggle.

Right click Desktop > point to Arrange Icons >click on(uncheck) auto arrange
