desktop icons

Hi There, Having upgraded from Win98,to xphome, I want to hide the
desktop items to print Photos of Screenshots. This was possible with
win98 can I do it with xp? Tom.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to accomplish but
you might want to try the following:

Right click an open area on your desktop.
Move your mouse pointer over "Arrange Icons By".
In the menu that drops down click on "Show Desktop Icons" to
remove the check mark.
Reverse the procedure in order to restore the icons.

Hopefully, that's what you were looking for.

Right-click on an empty part of the desktop, select arrange icons by,
then uncheck show desktop icons.
