Desktop Icons & Quick Launch

I have just reloaded XP Pro because of previous problems. After having
re-installed all my software I find the following problem. Everytime I boot
up, all the desktop icons appear BUT repaint themselves about 3 or 4 times. I
also notice that the 3 icons which appear in the Quick Launch bar are the
wrong icons although if I mouse over them the balloon displays the correct
program. As soon as I click on the double greater than symbol ( >> ) on the
Quick Launch bar, the correct icons appear.

Hi Kelly, thanx for your response. I attempted both your suggestions but it
made no difference. Something that may help is when I click the icon "Show
Desktop" on the Quick Launch bar whilst in another problem, it is perfect!
The problem is only on reboot/restart - Anton

I ran line 157 and line 54, still no difference ! Can I not give you more
info to help you with my problem?
