I'll answer in case Mary doesn't. Font colors on desktop icons cannot be
changed to anything other than black or white. Either black or white will
display depending on the basic desktop color selected.
There are third party programs that can manage this, however. The one I use is
the On Display feature of Microangelo (
http://www.microangelo.us). On Display
is also available as a stand-alone program for about $25.
My desktop icon fonts are light green!
