Desktop Drive Icons

Desktop shortcuts for removable drives do not work for
me. When the media changes, WinXP loses the reference and
wants to redirect the shortcut to my inbox. Have tried
creating both by dragging and by using the menu selection
from My Computer. This is afflicting my CD writer and my
DVD player but not my Zip 250 (?????). Fixed drive icons
work normally. Sorry if this has already been answered
elsewhere.
