Desktop Background Grainy Pixelated?

Hello,

Been playing with beta 2 build 5384 since it was released and there is one
thing that is odd that I find.

When you set a .jpg file for the background the image does not seem as sharp
as the same image under winxp. They seem blocky and pixelated. Now I know
that resizing from a 1024x768 to 1280x1024 would cause some problems but
havent had any issues with it under xp, but I have some higher res pictures
and they do the same too.

I know that vista is till being tweaked and aslo the video drivers are being
tweaked as well, but figured I'd through that out there and see if anyone
else has the same problems

Quick specs, nvidia 6800, samung 930bf lcd

The Nvidia isn't as good ax XP yet. I don't get very good anti-aliasing,
mpeg's look pretty bad in full screen but wmv's look good. What may help is
going to the Nvidia Control Panel and manually set everything to the highest
quality if you have over 1G ram and a qucik processor, and sacrifice some
performance. Defaults are application controlled but I don't think that's
all in synch yet.

Ok, thats what I kind of figured. Will have to wait to rc1 or later to see if
it turns out any better.
Thanks for the reply

Take heart. Anti-aliasing is improved in later builds. RC1 will be worth
your while to look at.

Does it still look blocky and pixelated if you permanently resize the
image with an editor like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc to match the
native resolution of your desktop?
