Desktop and Text with 9600pro

I recently installed a ATI 9600 Pro in a AMD 2400+ system and I am very
disappointed in the Text display, and also in the Desktop, folders, etc
display. The card works beautiful in games, but text is blurred, and in the
Desktop it appears that the colors run together leaving a smudged or out of
focus effect. My 21" Trinitron Monitor has dual inputs, and my other PC AMD
2100+ has a GF4 4200ti. is crystal clear in text and folders etc. on this
monitor. I have tried many different frequency settings, and different
resolutions ( 1024x768 currently) on the ATI card with no improvement. Any
suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

2D Display quality has nothing to do with the graphics chip. It has
mostly a feature of the card manufacturer. If the use crappy filters
and electronic-elements, then don't blame ATI about this. From what
vendor is your card? (Club3D, Sapphire, HIS,...)

Try with another VGA cable (your monitor is a high end one, so you
should be able to unplug it) and make it as short as possible
,shielded ones are better, ask at the local store. Also, the length of
the cable should better not exceed 1 m.

Good luck..

The vender is ATI, I will try different cables to see if that helps.
Thanks
