DESKTOP AFTER UNATTENDED TIME PERIOD

My monitor shows the small box surrounded in blue background and I have to
cleck on it and my "settings are reloaded". It didn't used to do this. What
did I hit. How can I get it back to a normal screen of icons?
 
Please repost this and make your issue and question a little more clear.
When does this happen and what specifically is happening?

You might want to try the following:

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Display.
Click on the Screen Saver tab.
Remove the check mark in the box next to "On resume, display the
Welcome screen".
Click OK.
