Desktop access denied

Hello,
I'm experiencing difficulties making any changes to my desktop.
I cannot create anything new or paste anythingonto it.
When I try and create something new an error message appears saying accessis
denied and when i try to paste anything an error message comes up saying:
'Cannot copy 'file/folder name':Accessis denied
Make sure the disk is not fullor write-protected and that the file is not
currently in use.'
There is nothing to stop anything being created on my desktop, the computer
is running xp pro service pack 2 and is on the domain, the user account is
setup with administrator rights.
Any ideas?
Regards - Janet.

If your computer is a member of a domain, ask your IT department for
help. They control your computer.

Those messages sound like NTFS problems. NTFS permissions trump
Administrator rights every time.

Your IT department is in the best position to help.
