An online Symantec virus scan indicates that my file
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\DeskAdx.dll is infected with
Adware.WinTaskAd. This is not picked up by either AVG or AdAware nor
can I find the file using Explorer, even selecting to view hidden files
using Folder Options.

Any ideas please

Bill

Hi, Biily

- Try to open a DOS prompt (or run "command")
- Type cd\ (press enter)
- Type cd windows (or the name of your windows folder, and press enter)
- Type cd downlo~1 (enter)
- Finally, type dir and enter.

What you see is the REALLY content of your C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program
Files. There's a lot of files (and perhaps folders called "conflict1",
"conflict2"...) you CAN'T SEE using windows explorer anyway. Many
malicious softs (like gator, gain, ...) use this folder to keep safe from
our eyes. Otherwise, there's a lot of ESSENTIAL files lying there too
(plugins, antivirus...) So... be careful.

I got the deskadx.dll too, but I don't know what the hell it does. I did
not found any valid reference about it, so... I didn't delete it.
