When I start my computer and the desk top screen opens the MSN Folder from
the program files opens. I can close it, but every time I turn on my
computer the same thing happens. How do I stop this from happening?

Hi Henry,

This is caused if one of the startup entries are not formatted correctly in
the registry.

Download Startup Tracker application from this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm

Launch the program, and click the "View log" button. Post the contents of
the log file here.

Henry,

msnmsgr C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe /background

Start Regedit.exe and navigate to the following registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Fix the Value data for above entry (msnmsgr), so that its data becomes:

"C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\msnmsgr.exe" /background

Close Regedit.exe
