Desk Top Icons

My desk top icons do not work. I can click on any of them
but nothing happens. When you click on an icon the screen
acts as if it is refreshing, the icons disappear and
return with in seconds, however they do not function.

Any suggestions.

If you are using Windows 2000 pro, I would suggest turning off activ
desktop. Failing that, start your machine in safe mode (press F8 o
startup) and see if the programs will work in that environment.
