At one time I had an icon on the desktop that enable me immediate access a
web site that I used on a regular basis. Now even though the icon is on the
desk top it doesn't work and it comes up with the message."This file does not
have a program with it for performing this action" "Create an association in
Folders Options - Control Panel"

What I have done to date is to go into the folders file and unchecked what
it was that I was told to uncheck but I still can't get a direct link using
the icon.

My question is How do you perform this action?

I have IE7, xp sp2. I would like this information in easy to understand
"talk" as I am a bit of a nurd. Thank you

Hi shirlaust,

Is this an internet shortcut (.URL file)? Try fixing the file associations
using Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Set Program access and defaults.
Set IE as the default.
