My desktop disappear

Variety of possible causes:

Power cords--computer and monitor both.

Data cable between computer and monitor.

Monitor broken--does the little green light come on?

Computer broken--similar question?

I'm afraid I'm not up to laying out the whole trouble tree on this one, so
perhaps some more details would help us narrow down?

If you're running windows xp, press ctrl-alt-del to bring up task
manager...got to processes tab...look to see if you have SYSU.EXE
running...if so...you have a nasty adware "virus" (for lack of better term)
being propagated by DDM (dynamic desktop media).

glad to help...and...in the other thread...I've solved the remote desktop
copy files problem. Thanks for your input.

Great--I've done this, using the changes (like) you detailed, so I know it
