Design view in Access 2002

I'm working on a database created by someone else (I've now taken over their
role) and it has been locked so that I can't access the Design View. I have
tried all the ways I can think of to get to the Design View but can't unlock
the database.

Can anyone help? As you can tell I'm not an Access expert! Thanks

Are you sure it's an MDB file, and not an MDE?

There is no Design View in an MDE.

Dear Woody:

When you say "design view" do you mean the design view used to modify forms?
Or the "database window" which lists the tables, queries, forms, reports
etc.? What does "all the ways" include? Have you tried holding down the
shift key while the application opens?
