deploying registry permission fixes via GPO

I need to deploy a registry fix across our network to both XP pro SP2 & 200
pro SP4 clients. The registry key is exactly the same in both operating
systems. There is a specific key in the registry that I need to grant the
users group full control of. I know how to create a .REG file and package it
for deployment via GPO but I am unsure how to set permissions on a specific
key in a way that i could just import it into the registry on mutliple
machines. Going computer-to-computer to fix this manually has gotten me by
but there's got to be a way to automate this. Also is there a setting in a
RIS image config file that could automate this fix on new clients being
setup? I am unable to find any information pertaining to setting reg
permissions in RIS. The only information I can find is how to add a reg key
into a RIS image.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is a tough one.
