Deploying Icons

Hi,

I'm trying to add an Icon to a custom folder I created in the start menu to
every computer in the domain. I would appreciate any info on how this can be
done using GPOs, if possible.

you can do it via a script. I don't think it can be done via gp

I think I found out how.

One way to do it is to create an .msi that adds the shortcut to that folder
and deploy the .msi through the software installation GPO (sounds complex
for an icon but works fine ) . The good thing about it is that the
shortcuts can now be deployed based on groups (i.e. filtered for
developers...etc.).

You would have to create an MSI for the folder/icon to copy (which would be
trivial for such a simple "application"), then apply the MSI via GPO.
