DEP and Windows Mail/Live mail

Strange things happing with my Windows Mail program, Windows Live does the
same. When I use Tools-Accounts in the Mail program and select any account
properties, as soon as I click the servers tab DEP closes down the mail
program. The same happens if I try to add a new mail account. All the other
tabs in the account properties will open fine, it's just the servers tab. I
downloaded Windows Live but that also has the same problem. Windows Mail
cannot be taken out of DEP (data execution prevention) I'm all out of ideas
now, anyone having this problem too, or know of a solution?

What if any antivirus programs do you have? Some of them cause assorted
problems in Windows Mail, and some of these even cause problems in
Windows Live Mail also.

I use the full paid-up version of ZoneAlarm Internet Security, but I have
closed this down and still get the problem. I think that when I installed
Windows Live it took settings and messages from Windows Mail and in doing so
took the problem as well.
One thing that has occurred just now is that I have 4GB memory installed in
1GB sticks as dual channel on a 32 bit Vista Home premium. I don't have time
just yet (bed time, early riser) but am thinking should I try removing 1GB
memory? Anyone know if this can cause this type of problem?
