Buellpilot said:You can't download a demo version, but if you can borrow a DVD
you can install it on a 30day trial.
When it asks for a key, you can leave it blank you will then be asked
to confirm this decision and will be allowed to finish the install.
If a key hasn't been provided and activated after 30days Vista
will go into limited functionality mode.

goto:

and download the 30 day trial of Vista, that can be used with Virtual PC
for evaluation purposes.

Disregard what Mike B. said, he's a Microsoft shill,
and a rather lame one, too.
Borrow a disk from someone, install Vista without a key.
Make it easy on yourself and install the version that you
plan to buy. That way, when you do buy Vista, all you'll
have to do is change the product key and activate.

The licensing terms are quite clear on this - you may not just go around
borrowing software and installing unlicensed copies.
As DX has provided the link - the only legitimate eval copy is currently
available as a 30 day trial using a Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) image.
Frankly is you are going to resort to petty name calling then at least use
an appropriate terms - I am hardly as "shill" as I have no vested interest
in promoting a particular product. Also the very fact that you lower
yourself to such childish behavior only further serves to devalue your post.

However his point is valid.
Just because many violate the agreement they agreed does not make it
right to do so.
There is nothing in the Vista license that allows trial/evaluation or
other limited use of Vista.
If you do not like what Mike said, complain to those who write the license.
There is no need for you to insult others in your own effort to divert
from the facts.
