Demo Vista

Can I download Vista from the Internet?

I need a demo or a time limted version.

You can't download a demo version, but if you can borrow a DVD
you can install it on a 30day trial.

When it asks for a key, you can leave it blank you will then be asked
to confirm this decision and will be allowed to finish the install.
If a key hasn't been provided and activated after 30days Vista
will go into limited functionality mode.

No - there is no time limited or eval version available to the general
public.
You can download it if you have a TechNet Plus subscription
www.microsoft.com/technet for evaluation and demo purposes.

You may not use another persons DVD to install from unless you have a valid
license.
The 30 day grace period in activation is NOT there to enable any demo, eval
or trial use of the product.
All installations must only be done under a valid license (since you cannot
agree to the terms of the End User License Agreement if you have not
purchased a valid license for the product)

All eval/trial products currently released are available from
www.microsoft.com
Eval use and download is available under a TechNet Plus subscription.

Disregard what Mike B. said, he's a Microsoft shill,
and a rather lame one, too.

Borrow a disk from someone, install Vista without a key.
Make it easy on yourself and install the version that you
plan to buy. That way, when you do buy Vista, all you'll
have to do is change the product key and activate.

The licensing terms are quite clear on this - you may not just go around
borrowing software and installing unlicensed copies.
As DX has provided the link - the only legitimate eval copy is currently
available as a 30 day trial using a Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) image.
Frankly is you are going to resort to petty name calling then at least use
an appropriate terms - I am hardly as "shill" as I have no vested interest
in promoting a particular product. Also the very fact that you lower
yourself to such childish behavior only further serves to devalue your post.

It is done, and it's done all the time. So long as a user eventually
buys a license and activates, I don't give a dam what the terms say.
The terms are unrealistic. Eventual purchase of license should be the
only concern. If that is accomplished because someone got to test Vista-
Microsoft should be happy. If not, fukk em'.
I certainly could careless what you have to say on the matter.
Your opinion is irrelevant to me.

Your mere presence devalues this whole group. You're very rarely helpful, and
mostly just an obnoxious gaidaros.

What do you think it does to your post when you speak with your head
crammed so tight up Bill's and Ballmer's arses simultaneously?

Whether Mike is or not is irrelevant.
However his point is valid.
Just because many violate the agreement they agreed does not make it
right to do so.
There is nothing in the Vista license that allows trial/evaluation or
other limited use of Vista.

If you do not like what Mike said, complain to those who write the
license.
There is no need for you to insult others in your own effort to divert
from the facts.

I will continue to violate that part of the agreement.
When my friends or a family member needs an install
disk, I will always loan it to them. Fukk you and fukk
Microsoft for that ridiculous and unenforceable clause.

You are about as irrelevant as he is.
