anyone know how to get rid of the dell support alert icon on bottom right by
the time? tried to disable it but the file says its running, full, or write
protected.don't want it don't need it.thanks for any help.

usually right clicking it, you get either a menu that you can select disable
or options...disable in options

I'd say contact DELL support : P.

If you are unable to choose to disable the item from starting up via the
available menu options , you could try using the MSCONFIG utility , check the
services tab , click the hide all microsoft services , check if the offender
is hiding there.
If not start systematically checking the items on the startup tab.

Hope this helps. : )

For clarity, please quote at least some of the original post when you
are replying. The OP wanted to know how to stop the Dell support
alerts. The best way to do this is to use Add/Remove Programs and
uninstall Dell Support. This program is unnecessary and the OP will not
be asked to use it if s/he ever calls Dell tech support. While in
Add/Remove programs, it is a good idea to also uninstall Dell Media
Experience, which is a completely unnecessary program that can cause
drag-and-drop to stop working.

Absolutely right, after creating your Recovery set on some Dell
PCs, the 1st thing to do is go to Add/Remove and do as Malke
said. I have a few other Dell add-ons I would get rid of as well.
