Dell monitors on Ebay: Legit?

I see a lot of Dell LCD monitors being advertised as new on Ebay, some at
"Buy it Now" prices significantly lower than the prices Dell is currently
selling these same units for at their website. These are 1905FP and 2005FP
models. Some of these vendors have dozens of new boxes for sale. Is this
legit? I'm thinking hot merchandise here. Where does this stuff come from?
Insurance salvage? Factory seconds? Fell off a truck?

many of those 1905FP's have USB port problems. These maybe refurbished.
Although they are NEW, as in never purchased, they have been repaired (or
not) as the USB problem doesn't effect the picture and not many people I
know even use these type of 'extensions' so, it may go unnoticed.

quite often dell has special sales on certain system configurations that
include thos monitors. The deals are so good that it seems like they're
throwing the monitor in for only $50 or so.

It could be that somebody's buying thos systems., then splitting them up and
selling the monitors seperatly and making money.
