I have a directory that has around 500,000 1 meg files in it. I need
to delete it. Using DEL commands works but is very slow, even if I run
muiltpul copies of it. It seems to only delete about 10 megs a minute.
Does anyone know of a Utility to delete a very large ammount of files
quickly?

Thanks,
Kevin

Are you using Windows XP? I ask you because "Enable write cache on the disk"
is enabled by default and its really boost up the speed of deletion and copy.

See if it is enable in Device Manager's Disk Drive property.

Hope this help, let us know!

Just open the folder with windows explorer. Click edit and then
select all. All your files will be highlighted. Then click file and
delete. That should delete all the files at one time. You can then
remove the folder all together.
