Deleting web addresses

How do I delete the list of names in the drop-down list of any search
engine.
Msn, yahoo, canoe etc each has a different drop-down list when the
'Search the web' window is clicked twice.

I have looked in Tools\internet options.
I have deleted history and files to no avail.

How can I get rid of these lists?
