Deleting suspicious looking e-mail without clicking on it

Am using Outlook Express. How does one delete a
suspicious looking e-mail without first clicking on it.

For example in my AT&T Webmail Center, I can check a box
to the left the e-mail, and then hit the delete button.

You must click on the message to select it; then you can delete it.

from the server, they won't get near your PC.

View, Layout, uncheck show preview pane. You can see what messages you
have without opening them if you wish.

above, hold down shift while you click on the email below. Then

Disable the preview pane. (add the preview button to your tool bar)
Then, "selecting" the message doesn't open it but allows you to delete it or
check its "properties"
