Deleting search history

When you open Start>search>for files or folders. every key
I press brings up a list of previous searches of that
particular key. I would like to delete the old entries,can
someone tell me how to do this. Thanks in advance

Rich, open up Search>select Change Preferences>Turn off Auto Complete.

I can't seem to find the change preferences in the search
area. I tried right clicking everywhere,I just can'y find
it!
 
It should be on the left in a blue area called Search Companion.
