Ummm... this depends on the method of clean install and the configuration of
the physical drives. Basically, you have to specifically tell it which
partitions to delete. If you don't tell it to delete the F partition, it
won't.

Sorry about that... it was meant more as a general statement than a specific
answer so that people who just saw the question and answer wouldn't assume
it was always true.
