Deleting protect ed documents on floppy disc

I am trying to delete a protected document from a 3 1/2"
floppy disc. Word will not let me edit or delete. When I
try to unprotect the document by going
into "Tools", "protect/unprotect" document and change
option to "forms" it blocks it.

Rules 1,2, and 3 - NEVER work on a word document directly from a floppy
disk! If you are trying to delete a file, you don't use Word, you use
Windows Explorer (Flying Window key + E is a shortcut to open it). Expand
the "+" sign by My Computer if it isn't already, click on the "A" drive,
look for the file to the right, select it, and delete it. Word form
protection has nothing to do with the ability to delete a file.

Might also be worth checking if the floppy itself is write-protected.
