hi there i am looking for some help on how to delete pictures that i a have
put on my desktop?

Right-click Desktop, select Properties > Desktop, and look for the picture
in the list that appears. Remove the picture by selecting another image or
'None'.

i have done that but the picture is still on my desktop list. i am looking to
take it of my computer?

Start > Search > All files and folders > Somepic.jpg or *.bmp. Delete when
found.

Maybe you talking about Desktop Items.

1. Right-click on your Desktop.
2. Choose Properties
3. Click Desktop tab - click Custom Desktop
4. Under Custom Desktop - click Web tab.
5. You will see a list of Desktop items.
6. Select and Delete them.

your problem then please specify that are you seeing pictures on your desktop
or just file icons.

see when i go to display properties and go to desktop. when i hightlight the
picture i want to delete it just say whats this!

I got your point. You want to remove the entries from Display Background
list. You can delete them through Display Properties. These files are saved
on 2 different locations.

First one is: open My Documents - My Pictures - here right click on picture
that you don't want and click delete.

Second One is: Windows\Web\Wallpaper. Open My Computer and search for this
directory and delete the file you don't want.

Don't forget to emply your Recycle Bin as well.

How do I delete a read-only picture file I saved on a backup disc? Everytime
I try to delete it, it tells me I cannot because it is a read-only file.

What do you mean by "backup disk"? FYI, files in CD-R can't be deleted.

What do you mean by 58? Are you talking about the MS Newsgroup Web
interface?
