Deleting mail

I cannot delete messages even with the line through it. I have tried
emptying the deleted mail folder and purge deleted messages, but the emails I
want deleted are still there? Is there another way to delete messages I have
tried to deleted from March? It's taking up a lot of space!

Your IMAP server seems to be ignoring your client's instructions to purge
the messages. Fortunately, the space the messages take on your client
doesn't necessarily equal the space taken on the IMAP server, since you may
not have downloaded the entire bodies of all the messages.

Try setting up the IMAP account in Outlook Express (you'll see exactly the
same messages) and try deleting and purging there. If that works, it points
to Outlook as the issue (but you don't state Outlook's version, so
troubleshooting is difficult). If the behaviour also occurs with OE, then
the problem is your IMAP server.
