I have over 2500 old emails in my deleted items folder in Outlook 2003. I
want to permanently delete most of those emails, but not all of them. How
can I get rid of about half of them without going through the list and
manually clicking each email? Is there a way to just get rid of certain
ones, say only those that are over three months old?
Thanks

You have several options. One it to select a range of messages by clicking
the first in the range and holding down Shift while you click the last in
the range. This will select all messages between the two and you can then
delete them. The second is to use AutoArchive to delete messages older than
a certain time frame.

Please note the icon for the deleted items folder - it is a trash can, not a
safe.

Milly, I have no idea what your response meant, but it wasn't needed.

Whatever, just reminding you that trash is trash and should be taken out
immediately. If you want to keep items to mull them over, move them to
another folder. The trash can symbol for deleted items folder is a hint.
