I am trying to delete macros, but when I go to the 'Tools', 'Macros' window
and click on any macro I find the Delete button is 'greyed out'. Why, and how
do I get round this to delete the macros?

If the macros are stored in a "global" template or an add-in, you'll
have to open that template directly (through File > Open instead of
File > New) to be able to delete or edit the macros.

Thanks for the tip. Just before I recieved your reply I had discovered that
the macro was associated wiht an ass-in which was included in the startup
folder. I discovered that items in startup always have the delete button
greyed out on tools macros and add-in windows . IU deleted it from the
startup folder successfully.
Thanks
