Deleting large unsent message

Am running OL 2003 w/Business Contact Mgr and tried to send a message with a
very large (600MB) attachment. After 4 hours I stopped the send and am now
unable to delete the message from the outbox. Have read the threads and have
tried "Work Offline", exit OL, start OL, then delete the file. Didn't work.
Tried the variation starting OL in safe mode and it didn't work. Tried
creating new .pst file, making it the default, then deleting from the
original .pst file. Didn't work.
Appreciate any ideas as email is piling up and I can't send anything.

What I mean by "didn't work" is that the large file remains in the outbox.
There was no difference in the appearance or action of OL before and after
each of the procedures. Don't know how else to describe it.

Then you did it wrong or didn't try all of the procedures on the cited page
because at least one of the methods described (the third one, where you
create a new PST) is GUARANTEED to work. How can you have a message stuck
in a brand-new Outbox that's empty to start?
