Deleting IE 6 SP1 In ORder to reinstall

I am running W2k SP4. I wish to delete IE6 SP1- Earlier this year, I
downloaded ie6 with SP1 from my work (since I only had dial-up at the time at
home). What I didn't realize is that my workplace disabled some of the
settings for IE (the ability to add trusted websites, etc). When I went to
delete it through add/remove programs, IE is not listed. Then when I try to
remove it through add/remove windows components, it says 0 MB (indicating
that it cannot be uninstalled, or installed). I recently purchased SBC DSL
service, so I'm not sure if IE was reinstalled, or added to by this SBC Yahoo
service. I'm guessing I have to do something in the registry, which I am
somewhat familiar with, although I am no expert. Any help is greatly
appreciated. All I want to do is completely remove this version and reinstall
a clean, unrestricted version of IE.

Thanks in advance-

I will try to clarify...

It is my home computer. Since IE 6 SP1 is a standard load for my work
computer, and since I only had dialup at home, I decided to install the IE 6
SP1 that is available at work onto my home computer. What I didn't realize is
that certain security aspects were disabled by my company, and I cannot chage
them at home. What I would like to do is completely remove the "work version"
I have ,and install a clean, unchanged version of IE 6. But as I stated, I
cannot seem to remove the IE I have installed- it does not show up in
add/remove programs, but it is still there. I also added SBC Yahoo DSL in the
last week, so I don't know how that impacts IE; it has its own "modified"
version of IE. Clear as mud, right? Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Greg

I'm not sure this will help, but I will try. In the meantime, can we discuss
how to change the restrictions?

THank you very much!

Hi,
See if anything in this article helps:

If this doesn't help, you could probably remove the restrictions. Post back
if that's the best option.
