Deleting from My Pictures only makes more copies!

I am so frustrated. When I try to delete some pictures
from My Pictures, everything I've tried only makes more
copies in the file!! I'm overloaded. Does anyone know
what I should do?

Not sure why that is happening. An idea to get rid of the
build up: Create a new folder. Then drag the pictures
you want to delete to newly created folder, and then
delete that folder. Might free up the disk space until
you figure out what is happening.

Don't drag the mouse, it will only make more copies.
Do this: Click the first entry and hold down the Shift
key and click the last entry of the files you're trying
to delete, this will highlight everything in between.
Now rightclick anyone of the highlighted entries and
click Delete - Boom - gone to the Recycle Bin. If you
want to do one at a time or be selective, use the Ctrl
key instead of the Shift key.

This can arise if while selecting you jiggle the mouse a bit, so it
thinks you are dragging. Reduce the sensitivity of detecting a drag:
Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its Mouse page put the drag sensitivity up to say 25 - or more - getting
on for the size of an icon (normally 32 pixels)
