Deleting every other row

I have a spreadsheet with data in column 1.

every other row is empty, I would like to delete this rows in order to
compact my data.

Select the data range...
select Edit..then Go to..specials or (ctrl G, then special)
select Blanks then click Ok...proceed to delete operation

Public Sub DeleteBlankRows()
On Error Resume Next 'in case no blanks
Columns(1).SpecialCells(xlCellTypeBlanks).EntireRow.Delete
On Error GoTo 0
