How can I permanently delete items in my folders without having them
go into my Deleted Items folder?

OK but how do I turn off the "Are you sure that you want to
permanently delete the selected item(s)?" prompt?

You can't. That's the safety net. After all, once you get used to
using Shift+Del, you WILL be back here asking how to undelete a
permanently deleted item. The safety prompt just delays how long before
you come back.

You can do that by going to Tools/Options and looking around. I've shut
down my Winders machine for the night so I can't give you more info
other than it can be done.

Ah, I learned something new. The OP never mentioned WHICH version of
Outlook he is using. In OL2002, it is in the naviation path you mention
but with the addition of clicking on the Advanced Options button.

I am curious as to WHY you want to do this?

I want to delete the items permanently the first time without then
having to delete them from my Deleted Items folder.
